Responsibilities:
- Developed Thrive 360, a VR-based mental wellness app designed to help users reduce stress and anxiety through immersive 360° relaxation experiences and guided virtual therapy sessions.
- Integrated high-resolution 360° nature videos, including calming scenes of mountains, rivers, forests, and beaches, carefully selected to promote mental relaxation and mindfulness.
- Designed a virtual therapy environment, where users can experience calming visuals while listening to their therapist’s voiceover guidance or pre-recorded meditation sessions.
- Implemented immersive soundscapes and spatial audio, synchronizing ambient sounds with visual environments (e.g., flowing water, wind, birdsong) for deep sensory engagement.
- Developed intuitive VR UI/UX, including gaze-based selection and floating menus for session navigation, scene switching, and playback controls, tailored for Oculus and mobile VR platforms.
- Enabled therapist-assisted sessions, allowing users to join guided experiences where licensed therapists provide personalized calming routines and mindfulness techniques via voice or pre-loaded content.
- Used Firebase and JSON backend for storing user preferences, session history, mood tracking, and customizable relaxation playlists, enabling a personalized experience across sessions.
- Optimized video streaming and buffering, ensuring smooth playback of large-format 360° content without lag, even on mobile VR platforms like Google Cardboard and Oculus Go.
- Integrated RESTful APIs and modular scene loading, allowing new therapy scenes, ambient tracks, and guided sessions to be delivered dynamically without app updates.
- Monitored app performance and user engagement using Firebase Analytics, ensuring high retention rates and tailoring future updates based on user feedback and usage data.
